September 2024 Editor’s Note

Pizza is more than just food; it’s an experience. For me, pizza isn’t just about the delicious combination of crust, sauce, and cheese—though, let’s be honest, that’s a huge part of it. It’s about the memories tied to each bite, the comfort it brings, and the happiness it represents. Some might say that pizza isn’t the healthiest choice, citing the carbs, gluten, and calories. But to me, pizza is mental health in a box.

Life is full of choices, much like assembling the perfect pizza. Do you go with classic pepperoni or mix it up with something unconventional like pineapple or jalapeños? Every topping you choose brings a different flavor and a new experience, just like every decision in life shapes your journey. And sometimes, those little indulgences—like ordering an extra-large pizza after a long week—bring the most joy.

But just like life, balance is key.

While I’ll always reach for that slice of pepperoni (I’m a Jersey guy, after all), I know that finding happiness isn’t just about satisfying cravings. It’s about creating a life that feels good—inside and out. That means exercising, staying active, and making choices that support your overall well-being.

So yes, enjoy that slice (or two) of pizza. Savor the moment and the comfort it brings. But remember, life’s about more than just the pizza; it’s about the joy you find in the every day, the laughter you share with others, and the way you balance your indulgences with actions that help you feel your best.

Life is like a pizza—you get to choose your toppings. So, choose wisely, enjoy every bite, and most importantly, find happiness in every slice.

Just don’t overdo it.
